Brown and McLean Wilson
Mr.
and Mrs. Mark Hilman Brown of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina announce
the engagement of their daughter, Lauren Anne Brown, to McLean Andrew
George Wilson, both of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina.
Mr. Wilson is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Lesesne Wilson of Mt. Pleasant,
South Carolina and the grandson of the late Dr. and Mrs. John McLean
Wilson of Darlington and the late Mr. and Mrs. George McQuilkin, III,
of Charlotte, North Carolina.
Miss Brown is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alex Taflan, Jr., of
Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, and Mr. and Mrs. Hilman Brown of Weirton,
West Virginia.
The bride-to-be graduated from Socastee High School and earned Bachelor
of Science and Master of Science degrees in Civil Engineering from Clemson
University. She is currently employed as a Structural Engineer with
Rickborn and Associates in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina.
The prospective groom graduated from Wando High School and earned Bachelor
of Science and Master of Science degrees in Civil Engineering from Clemson
University. He is currently employed as a Civil Engineer with Thomas
and Hutton Engineering Company in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina.
The wedding is planned for May 31, 2008, at the I’On Creek Club
in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina.

Wedding to Take Place April 19
Ms.
Priscilla Larstene Evans and Mr. John Walter Evans, Sr. of Darlington
wish to announce the engagement of their daughter, Amber Nichole Evans,
to James Travis Smothers, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne and Nancy Smothers,

Wedding Planned for September 20

and Mrs. Richard Badham Coxe of Darlington, South Carolina, and Mrs.
Yeates Coxe of Birmingham, Alabama, announce the engagement of their
daughter, Miss Elizabeth Berkeley Coxe, to Mr. Alan Hampton Hubbard,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Reginald Hampton Hubbard of Darlington, South Carolina.
Miss Coxe is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Chatterton
Coxe, Jr., of Darlington, South Carolina; Mr. and Mrs. Rutherford Nance
Yeates, Sr., of Birmingham, Alabama; and Mrs. Frank Esby Rogers and
the late Mr. Rogers of Darlington, South Carolina. Miss Coxe was graduated
from St. Catherine’s School of Richmond, Virginia, and Carnegie
Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She was presented at
the Men’s Dance Club of Darlington, South Carolina, the Columbia
Ball in Columbia, South Carolina and the Redstone Ball in Birmingham,
Alabama. She is employed as a media strategist by The Bounce Agency
in Greenville, South Carolina.
Mr. Hubbard is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Julian Bethea and
the late Mr. and Mrs. Reginald Lam Hubbard, both of McColl, South Carolina.
Mr. Hubbard was graduated from Clemson University with a degree in Forest
Resource Management. He is employed as a sales manager by Venner Technologies,
Inc., in Newport, North Carolina.
Miss Coxe and Mr. Hubbard will be married on Saturday, September 20,
2008, in Darlington, South Carolina, at St. Matthew’s Episcopal
Church.
