Cooper-Burgess
Engagement
Mr.
and Mrs. Edward Cooper of Hemingway, South Carolina wish to announce the
engagement of their daughter, Aurelia Cooper, to Michael Burgess, son
of Rev. and Mrs. Robert Burgess of Hemingway, South Carolina. The wedding
is planned for June 28, 2008 in Jeremiah United Methodist Church of Hemingway,
South Carolina.
Freeman-Hancock
Engagement
Mr.
James Austin Freeman and Ms. Wendy Freeman of Darlington announce the
engagement of their daughter, Mallory Anne Freeman, to Jason Corey Hancock,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Randal Dwayne Hancock of Darlington. The bride-elect
is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Searcy, Jr. of Greenville,
South Carolina and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Austin Freeman of Darlington. The
groom-elect is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Paul Wayne Wilson,
and Ms. Bertrude McKenzie Hancock of Darlington and the late Mr. William
Parker Hancock. The wedding will be June 7, 2008 at Temple Free Will Baptist
Church in Darlington.
Evans-McGukin
Engagement
William
Jarrell Evans and Marcie Elizabeth McGukin, along with family and friends,
are happy to announce their engagement to be married. Marcie is the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. H. Jerry McGukin of Dadeville, Alabama. Billy is the son
of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel E. Evans, Sr. of Darlington, South Carolina.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Augustus Dean Whorton and
the late Augustus Dean Whorton of Dadeville and the late Mr. and Mrs.
William Harold McGukin of Birmingham. She is a 1998 graduate of Auburn
University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religion and a 2004 graduate
of Mercer University with a Master’s degree in Education. Marcie
is currently a teacher with the Marietta City School System in Marietta,
Georgia.
The prospective groom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Wardie
L. Evans of Pamplico, South Carolina and the late Mr. and Mrs. Claud Jarrell
of Mount Gilead, North Carolina. Billy is a 1997 graduate of Francis Marion
University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a 2003 graduate
of Clemson University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
He is currently employed by Tindall Corporation of Conley, Georgia.
Marcie and Billy are looking forward to their wedding ceremony which will
take place at the First United Methodist Church in Dadeville, Alabama,
on July 12, 2008.

Wedding
Robyn
Jeanette Kelly of Darlington, SC and Claud Martin (C.J.) Beacham of Lamar,
SC were married at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 26, 2008 at the groom’s
parents’ house beside their pond in Lamar.
Rev. Richard Wilt performed the double ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Melissa (Lisa) and Ashley Murray of Darlington
and Jimmy Connie Kelly, Jr. of Manning, SC. She is the granddaughter of
Jeannette Yow and Robert (Bobby) Garris of Darlington, and Sybil Kelly
and the late Jimmy Kelly Sr. of Darlington. She is employed by Blue Cross
Blue Shield of Florence, SC.
The groom is the son of Freddie and Tracy Watford of Lamar. He is the
grandson of Fred Watford and the late Ann Watford of Lamar; James Lloyd
and the late Katie Lloyd of Darlington; and Lee and Ann Adams of Darlington.
He is employed by Sumter Utilities of Sumter, SC.
Maid of honor was Miranda Dean of Florence. Junior bridesmaid was Melissa
Brianna Broach, daughter of the bride, of Darlington.
Best man was Freddie Watford, father of the groom, of Lamar.
Ring bearer was Triston Dakota McCracken of Darlington. Ushers were Curtis
Beacham, brother of the groom, of Lamar and Lee Lane of Lamar.
The bride arrived in a horse drawn carriage.
An outdoor reception was held following the wedding.
After a brief honeymoon, the couple have made their home in Hartsville,
SC.
